The ethics trial for Congressman Charles Rangel is scheduled to begin today and Ashley Woolard, the candidate running against Congressman GK Butterfield, is demanding he step off the committee since he accepted donations from Rangel. Woolard stopped in Goldsboro Tuesday afternoon to talk to concerned citizens about his disgust in the corruption taking place. Woolard accuses Butterfield of taking a bribe and says that since he did not return the $4,000 contribution, he should remove himself from the ethics committee. Rangel has been under investigation for violations in fundraising, taxes and disclosure statements.
