Is Goldsboro ready for the Cesar Laurean trial, scheduled to begin next month? Laurean is the former marine indicated for murder in January 2008 for killing his pregnant girlfriend Marine Maria Lauterback and then burying her body in his backyard.
Onslow County District Attorney Dewey Hudson thinks Goldsboro is a fair location although the trial is expected to gain media attention near and far.
Sheriff Carey Winders recently met with Onlsow County Officials as they prepare for the trial and discussed the concerns that range from security, jury selection to limited parking spaces. Sheriff Winders says some are even selling their parking spaces on e-bay and in the newspaper during the trial.
Jury selections will begin for the Laurean trial on Monday August 9th. The trial is expected to last for 3 weeks.
