Monday was an extremely busy day at the Goldsboro Unemployment Office. Bill Pate with the North Carolina Employment Securities Commission says the recent bill signed in Congress for unemployment extensions, has many thinking that their checks are on the way.
Pate says there were 4 tiers of the extension however, they were frozen on May 29th. The bill that was signed just moves the date to November 30th so that those who have not exhausted their 4 tiers of the extension, can re-apply. Those who have exhausted the 4 tiers offered will not be eligible to apply at this time.
